Government sincere to boost literacy rate: minister

The Punjab Minister for Energy Chaudhry Armughan Subhani has said that the government was making sincere efforts to enhance literacy rate and improve the standard of education besides providing employment opportunities to the thousands of educated youths.
He expressed these views while speaking at an exclamation contest held here on the topic of 'Pakistan Movement' this morning at Sunrise Public School.
The minister said the government was utilising all its resources for improving the standard of education; and the private sector should come forward and discharge its obligations in this regard.
He said, the students were a real asset of the nation and urged them to equip themselves with latest knowledge and skill to put the country on the path to progress and prosperity.
He further said that extra-curricular activities were must for better physical and mental health but in addition they should devote maximum time to acquire modern knowledge of science and technology.
He said that Pakistan was an under-developed country and younger generation should devote all their energies to develop it on strong footing.
Later, the minister gave away prizes to the position holders.
