Handloom institute upgraded

Vice chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Professor Dr Karamat Ali has said that it is a great feat of Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah and his team that they have established a textile engineering college in Multan with the assistance of Export Promotion Bureau.
He was delivering his speech at a ceremony for handing over the charge of the Institute of Handloom & Home Textile, Multan to BZU University.
This institute would be renamed as Technology College of Handloom and Textile Engineering.
He held out an assurance that all departments of this college would be upgraded and experienced staff would be appointed in the college.
Dr Karamat said that eight new departments were being introduced in the campus, including agricultural engineering, textile engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering and architectural engineering. While a home economics college would also be established in the campus in 2005.
DCO Ijaz Chaudhry paid rich tributes to Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah and his associates, who had played a key role in establishing this institute in Multan.
