Electronic market dacoity: IGP urged to arrest culprits

Siraj Kassam Teli, president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), in a communication to Syed Kamal Shah, Inspector General of Police, Sindh, and Fayyaz Leghari, Deputy Inspector General of Police, while condemning the dacoity at the electronic market, located near the Sea Breeze Plaza, on M A Jinnah Road, urged them to expedite the action to apprehend the culprits.
He said: "Various godowns of the electronic market, located near the Sea Breeze Plaza, have been the target for the dacoity of a very serious dimension between the night of Thursday (August 19) and Friday (August 20), wherein more than 40 well-armed dacoits entered into the godowns and remained engaged in looting and plundering of electronic goods throughout the night and escaped after Fajr prayers with goods worth millions of rupees.
According to a report of Abdul Waheed Memon, chairman of Karachi Electronics Dealers Association, about 11 pm on Thursday, the dacoits took hostage 16 people, including chowkidars, and took away the electronic items from various godowns and loaded them in two containers and went away. He urged the IGP to expedite the action and apprehend the culprits at the earliest.
