Banks urged to adopt tech for utility bills collection

State Bank Governor Dr Ishrat Husain has directed all banks to adopt latest technology for collection of utility bills including electricity, water, gas and telephone, whereas the banks must provide TM Internet facilities by mobile phone to their consumers for payment of said utility bills.
State Bank of Pakistan Sialkot Chief Manager Chaudhry Munir told this here on Tuesday.
He said the SBP governor had also directed the banks to provide multiple facilities to consumers for payment of electricity, water, phone and gas bills. He further told, the banks could get services of local experts for that purpose.
