Constructive and positive steps should be taken in the backdrop of improving Indo-Pak relations so that the people could see a difference for themselves.
Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) President Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said this while addressing a public gathering at Nadihal-Bandipora in Baramulla district, according to Kashmir Media Service.
"For the success of the Indo-Pak dialogue it is necessary that such steps are taken which would bring about confidence among people that the dialogue has been taken up to resolve the long pending Indian occupied Kashmir issue", he said.
The DFP President said the human rights abuses, going on in the valley, should be stopped once for all, adding the Kashmiris had always been peace-loving people, and always wanted a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
Shabbir Shah stated that a meaningful dialogue was the only way out to the Kashmir issue and the talks had always been welcomed by the people.
He also expressed his concern over the plight of Kashmiri detenues who were languishing in various jails.
The DFP president said the Indian forces were even targeting the religious people and same was proved when an Imam of a mosque in Kishtwar was martyred by the forces. He also expressed his concern over the re-arrest of a person who was ordered to be set free by the court.
