NAB gets remand of English Leasing chief

An accountability Court (AC) on Tuesday awarded physical remand of English Leasing Company Chairman Shaikh Javed till September 09.
Earlier, the special prosecutor had contended before the court that National Accountability Bureau (NAB)officials wanted to interrogate the accused further, hence his physical remand was required. The court, inclining with the prosecutor, allowed his physical remand till next date of hearing.
The accused had been facing the charges of collecting public money in the name of business abroad, but neither he gave them profit nor returned their money.
Moreover, another accountability court adjourned till November 01, the proceedings in a reference against former provincial minister Sh Ijaz Ahmed after recording the statement of the investigating officer partially.
The accused had been facing the charges of corruption and making illegal assets in excess of his income. He had also been facing the charges of misusing his office as provincial minister and favouring his favourites in violation of rules and regulations.
