Three health officials suspended

Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Health Faisal Malik on Tuesday ordered suspension of three officials for inefficiency and negligence to their duties and sought explanation from town health officer Saddar.
During his visit to THO Saddar at around 1:30 pm, the staff was not present except one person in the office and rest were told offering prayer.
The provincial advisor visited different offices and noticed that official deep freezer was filled with drinking water bottles rather than vaccines and there was a large number of expired medicines in the store. He took samples of expired medicines.
The Advisor checked attendance of the staff, outward register and called officials one by one. There was no proper record of leave applications and official files were not kept secure.
He expressed dissatisfaction over management of official matters and directed to suspend Assistant Superintendent Muhammad Asif, Store Keeper Ishaq and Junior Clerk Saeed Jadoon for negligence and found them not loyal to their duties.
He also noticed absence of THO Dr Noshen Kehar from the office and called her explanation for his absence. Later, he visited Directorate of Director Nursing Sindh at 2.00pm, adjacent to THO Office Saddar.
He also checked attendance register and found all employees present on their duties. Deputy Director Nursing Roobi Iqbal gave briefing about various matters and offices located in the Directorate.
The Advisor felt dissatisfaction over keeping the office record and files on stairs and asked to keep them on secure place. He was told the new building of the Directorate was under construction and after its completion office record would be kept properly.
Earlier, Health Advisor visited Town Health Office Kaemari and Sindh Government Dispensary Sultanabad. He administered polio vaccine to children and acquired information about ongoing polio campaign. He also checked quality and expiry date of vaccines.
At Sultanabad Dispensary Dr Abdul Jabbar briefed him about three-day polio vaccination plan and informed that 13 teams were constituted for campaign to administer polio drops to children on their door step.
The Advisor visited Gizri Maternity Hospital and MCH Centre, Centre Office for Births & Deaths Certificates of Union Council 2, Kehkashan Clifton located in the premises of hospital and made queries about fee.
On his visit Advisor expressed distress on the monitoring of polio campaign at Sindh Government Dispensary Dehli Punjab Colony. He noticed different packing of polio vaccine. There was no proper arrangement for storage of polio vaccine. Only one doctor was present in the dispensary.
