'ARD to give tough time to Shaukat'

26 Aug, 2004

Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Vice President Nawabzada Mansoor Ali Khan has said the alliance has devised its strategy and will give tough time to Shaukat Aziz for his election as prime minister.
"We already have devised our strategy in this regard," he told this scribe on Wednesday.
Talking on telephone, Mansoor said ARD will field its consensus candidate against Shaukat Aziz for election for premier's slot.
"All component parties of Alliance have agreed to field a common candidate against Shaukat Aziz," he said and added there was no difference of opinion among ARD allies on this issue.
ARD vice-chief flayed regime for its utter failure to handle law and order, which according to him have gone from bad to worse. He said rulers who cannot protect law abiding citizens have no right to rule.
Replying to a question, Mansoor said launching operation in Balochistan will not be in wider interest of Pakistan. He urged the government to refrain from undertaking such operations as these will just promote hatred for law enforcers.
