An accountability court on Thursday adjourned for a week, the proceedings in a reference against industrialist Seth Nisar, after recording the statement of a prosecution witness.
The counsel of the accused will cross-examine the witness on next date of hearing. The court has called prosecution witnesses for recording their statements.
The accused has been facing the charges of evading tax in connivance with the government officials that caused loss to the public exchequer in millions of rupees.
Moreover, another accountability court extended physical remand of a former chairman Nexus Forex Company Masood Riaz Wallah for a fortnight.
Earlier, the special prosecutor contended before the court that NAB officials want to interrogate him further, hence prayed for his physical remand. The court, accordingly, allowed his remand and rose for the day.
The accused has been facing the charges of collecting money from the people in the name of business abroad but neither he paid the profit nor returned the principal amount.
