27 Aug, 2004

Additional district and sessions judge, Lahore, while directing Assistant Superintendent Police Civil Lines not to harass the petitioner, Haji Muhammad, has called for report and comments from in-charge investigation of Civil Lines Police Station on August 27.
The petitioner ex-chairman Masjid Committee, Hazrat Shah Inayat Qadri contended that he had approached the respondent ASP Civil Lines Police Station for registration of a theft case against one Muhammad Afzal.
The respondent ASP, instead of taking action against the accused was threatening him.
He also pressurised the petitioner to withdraw the case, otherwise ready to face dire consequences. He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner and act in accordance with the law.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, directed the respondent not to harass the petitioner and called for report and comments and rose for the day.
