Pakistan and Albania on Saturday discussed ways and means of further enhancing bilateral co-operation in political and economic ties for the mutual benefit of both the countries.
This was voiced here during a meeting between President Pervez Musharraf and visiting Albanian President Alfred Moisiu here.
The President emphasised that while there was a need to strengthen political relations, a greater emphasis was also required to consolidate and expand economic, commercial and defence co-operation.
He briefed his Albanian counterpart on the situation in South Asia - particularly the state of Pak-India relations.
The President reaffirmed his commitment for a result-oriented dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues.
Both the leaders agreed that an early resolution of Kashmir and Palestine disputes and return of normalcy in Afghanistan and Iraq were essential for global peace and security.
President Musharraf reiterated his support to the Albanian position on Kosovo. Situation in Afghanistan and the useful role of the Albanian peacekeepers in bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan were also discussed.
The Albanian President appreciated the commitment of the President to eliminate international terrorism and extremism.
The Albanian President expressed his gratitude to the President for expressing support to the Albanian position on Kosovo. President Musharraf accepted the invitation of the Albanian President to pay a visit to Albania.
