Intelligence agents and police have arrested three men suspected of involvement in two assassination attempts on President Pervez Musharraf, a security official said on Sunday.
The suspects were arrested in a raid on a house in a remote north-western village early on Sunday, he said. "We have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in two assassination attempts on President Pervez Musharraf," the security official told AFP.
Those arrested have been identified as Omar Rehman, his father Mohammad Rahim and another man Abdul Qayyum, he said.
A machine-gun, two AK-47 assault rifles and some other weapons were seized during the raid in Matta, a village about 250 km (155 miles) north of Peshawar.
The raid was launched following a tip-off from other suspects arrested in Punjab, the security official said.
