He said the CDGK is examining the proposals of local and foreign investors with regard to plantation, restaurants, swimming pool, residential cottages and other recreational facilities along the coast at Paradise Point, Hakwsbay and other spots.
Talking to a delegation of Kuwaiti investors here on Tuesday, the City Nazim, however, pointed out that coastal land will not be sold but investors who are interested in development schemes in the coastal belt would be encouraged.
The Kuwaiti delegation put forth an investment project amounting to Rs 600 to Rs 700 million whereby sea water will be brought up to the project for water sports besides construction of shops, amusement park, food restaurants, cottages and apartments which would be rented out to visitors.
DCO Mir Hussain Ali informed that a number of local and foreign investors have submitted offers in response to City Government's letter of expression for provision of recreational facilities in the coastal areas. He said the Investment Promotion and Enterprise department of City Government is examining these proposals.

He said that offers of local and foreign investors for this purpose would be accepted only on merit basis. He said the development of coastal areas will be carried out on BOT basis and City Government will abide by agreements in this regard.
