Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Tuesday that there has to be a close co-ordination between district government and parliamentarians to ensure early completion of development projects.
The Prime Minister was talking to Chairman, National Reconstruction Bureau Daniyal Aziz who called on him here at Prime Minister's Secretariat.
Shaukat Aziz asked the chairman NRB to spare no effort to remove any bottlenecks in the way of smooth working of the devolution plan and strengthening the district government system.
The Prime Minister said that close co-operation between district government and parliamentarians is a must so that maximum resources should be available for development projects. He said all stakeholders should be active participants of the development process.
The Prime Minister remarked that through the system of district government, which has been introduced first time in the history of Pakistan, common man has been given due share in the system and now their problems are being solved at local level.
Chairman NRB Daniyal Aziz apprised the Prime Minister of the performance of district governments in the country. He also pointed out the problems being faced at the district level in the implementation of the system. He also informed the Prime Minister about the methodology being devised to overcome the problems being faced by the district government.
