Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have decided a reshuffle of all Station House Officers(SHOs) and to introduce new and able force in the area because of increasing lawlessness in the federal capital.
This was stated by the newly appointed ASP Islamabad Mehboob Aslam on Tuesday here during a press conference, after inaugurating the accommodation barracks for traffic police officials.
ASP said the decision to reshuffle SHOs was taken on the complaints of corruption against those officials, and their failure to control the crime ratio in Islamabad.
Mehboob Aslam further told the duration for action of Rescue 15 would be reducing to five minutes so that the public complaints could be redressed promptly. He said ICT Police had sought funds from the government to add fresh force.
He had also strictly directed Islamabad police officials not to check 'Nikah Nama' of couples unnecessarily in the name of search.
While stressing the need of lock system, he said that survey forms have been distributed among residents under 'safe home scheme' to educate public about car safety, he said adding that ICT Police had taken various important measures to combat crimes in Islamabad.
Police had also started a campaign educating people to adopt car safety system to avoid vehicle theft cases in Islamabad, he added.
It may be noted that Islamabad Police which was claimed to be a model force of the country had completely failed to control increasing lawlessness in the metropolitan.
