Wapda will spend a sum of Rs 3.5 billion for upgrading its network in all distribution companies during the current fiscal year under its system augmentation program.
The spokesman for Wapda here on Wednesday said that this program had been envisaged for decrease in line losses and stable power supply to the consumers. The bifurcation and reconstruction of as many as 6,714 km high tension and low tension lines was on the card for the year 2004-05, under the said program.
