Supreme Court directs SSP to arrest absconders in fraud case

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the acting SSP Islamabad to arrest other three absconders involved in a fraudulently transferred house case and has given a week's time for the arrest and set September 13 for next hearing.
The acting SSP Islamabad informed the apex court that the suspended Golra Police Station SHO Khalid Virk has been arrested on August 30 and was now under the custody of police on judicial remand.
He informed this while briefing the court about the case on Thursday.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar on Thursday directed the acting SSP Islamabad Sultan Azam Taimuri to ensure arrest of remaining three absconders, Shahid Qasim, Basharat Ahmed and Muhammad Imtiaz Mughal in the same case within a week.
Acting SSP Islamabad assured the apex court to arrest three absconders within a week.
The Apex court comprising Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan and Justice M. Javed Buttar adjourned the case for September 13.
According to details of the case Dr Muhammad Saeed living in Germany purchased a plot No-24, St.No-26 Sector F-10/1 in 1974 and then built house there.
Twenty persons with the support of the local police entered the house in 2003 and kicked out Ashiq, a relative of the owner of the house who was living there for years on behalf of the owner.
Later, the said house was transferred in the name of Muhammad Abu Bakar Hamdani with the connivance of 13 persons including Muhammad Hayat Khan Director CDA, deputy director CDA Malik Nadeem Akbar and four other officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA). Station House Officer (SHO) Golra Police Station. Khalid Virk and others.
The owner of the house, Dr Muhammad Saeed lodged FTP with Golra Police Station under sections 420,147,114,661,406 relating to fraud cases and all the alleged involved officials of CDA and they were suspended for their connivance by respective departments.
Some of them (accused) succeeded to manage interim bail which were confirmed by the Special Judge Central, Syed Akhlaq Shah. Four accused were still in the jail.
Acting SSP also informed the Court that Mussarat Ali Khan SHO Police Station 1/9, Industrial Area Islamabad has been nominated new inquiry officer to investigate the case and arrest remaining three absconders.
Assistant Advocate General Punjab Afshan Ghazanfar advocate appeared before the Apex Court on behalf of the State and briefed the Court about the case
Dr Babar Awan appeared before the Court on behalf of Abdul Hafeez, an accused of the same case and now a days in the jail.
The court also directed Islamabad Police to trace whereabouts of Dr Fawad Wazir Bhatti who is reportedly working with Children Hospital, PIMS and involved in the same case.
