Transparency in LCCI polls demanded

Opposition leader of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Tahir Manzoor Chaudhary, has demanded of the federal commerce secretary, to direct the LCCI management to issue scrutinised voters' lists of chamber class after verifying record of income tax department so as to ensure transparency in coming election.
While addressing a meeting at 'The Founders' office, which was also attended by a large number of representatives of various trade organisations here on Thursday, Tahir said the LCCI management scrutinised the voters list of Trade Group only and deliberately avoided carrying out similar exercise for Chamber and Associate class. He said the management should have verified the national tax number and other tax documents from the income tax department of the members.
Apprising the participants about the appeal before the secretary commerce whereby DTO decision regarding validation of change of class from associate to chamber, he expressed the hope that the case would be decided soon where after they would announce their chamber class candidates, says a press release issued here on Thursday.
