US MIDDAY: wheat falls on profit-taking

03 Sep, 2004

Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures fell to the day's lows near midday on Thursday on a setback from the strong gains posted earlier this week, traders said.
Declining soy futures weighed on the market as did profit-taking by speculators, the pit sources said. Calyon Financial, FIMAT Futures and Man Financial were the noted sellers. At 12:07 pm CDT (1707 GMT), CBOT wheat was down 8-1/4 to 9-3/4 cents per bushel, with September down 9 at $3.09. December was down 9-1/2 at $3.20-3/4.
