LCCI hails Prime Minister for retaining finance ministry

Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Mian Anjum Nisar and Vice President Shahzad Ali Malik have hailed Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz's decision to retain the portfolio of Finance Ministry with him.
In a statement issued on Friday, they said Shaukat Aziz was a successful Finance Minister as he had brought economic stability at a time when threats of default were looming over our heads.
Only because of his successful policies we were coming out of the clutches of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB), they said.
They further said that by retaining Humayun Akhtar Khan, Dr Abdul Hafeez, Amanullah Khan, Rao Sikandar Iqbal, former Justice Abdul Razzaq Theem, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Baber Khan Ghouri, Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat and others, the Prime Minister had given an indication towards consistency of policies which was the only way to progress and prosperity.
They hoped that the prime minister would take steps to facilitate the business community. They said law and order situation and terrorism were two big challenges for the prime minister and his team and both the issues should be tackled on priority basis for bringing in more and more investment.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) and Collectorate of Sales Tax (CST) are jointly organising a seminar on Sales Tax for Retailers on Monday, September 06 at the LCCI premises.
Member Sales Tax Shahid Ahmad will be the chief guest while Collector Sales Tax Ashraf Khan, Deputy Collector Sales Tax Umar Mukhtar, President LCCI Mian Anjum Nisar and former LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Asif will speak on the issues pertaining to Sales Tax.
