MMA wants to resolve 'madaris' issue through talks: Qazi

Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and leader of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that the religious alliance wanted to resolve all issues including raids on the religious 'madaris' (seminaries) with government through talks.
Talking to a private TV channel after attending meeting between Ittehade-e-Tanzimat-e-Deenya and MMA, he said that raid on the religious 'madarsa' (seminary) of Hafiz Hussain Ahmed was a direct provocation but they would not react on it with force.
The JI leader said that the religious seminaries were integration force in the country and the government must not let down those institution to please the United States.
He said that they had decided to hold another meeting if the government failed to resolve the issue through talks.
Commenting on Kashmir, the JI Chief said that there would be no breakthrough in Pak-India talks unless India recognised Kashmir as a disputed territory.
