Restoration of democracy an uphill task: Asghar

Air Marshal Asghar Khan (Retd) has said the restoration of democracy in the country has become difficult task as politicians have lost their credibility in the country.
Talking to NNI, he said the people have lost their faith on two major political parties and it has made President General Pervez Musharraf powerful in the country.
He said President General Pervez Musharraf has stopped working on its agenda, and the corrupt politicians have trapped him.
Asghar Khan said that newly-elected Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has potential to dialogue with the West and improve country's image among the comity of nations, adding the prime minister has ability to improve the state of common man in the country.
The veteran politician said that he supports moderate politics and wants understanding between secular and religious parties on various issues.
He said the PPP is not ready to accept the faults committed by Founder of the Party, (late) prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
He said President General Pervez Musharraf will remain powerful despite change of the prime minister.
