Shopkeepers warned to avoid illegal profiteering

Hamid Nawaz Raja, Tehsil Nazim, Rawalpindi, has warned the shopkeepers of the weekly bazars to make sure the provision of essential commodities on cheaper rates, besides maintaining the quality of the products.
"Any shopkeeper found guilty in illegal profiteering and selling commodities below quality, he will be dealt with iron hands", he said while talking to members of the market committee during his visit to different markets.
The main purpose of establishing these weekly bazars was to provide people cheap and quality commodities to save their previous health and money, Nazim said and added that if the products were sold on higher rates, there will be no justification of these bazaars.
He dispelled the impression of any shortage of fruits or vegetables in the city 'The fruits and vegetables are coming regularly in the city and there is no shortage of these products,' he said.
The Nazim said: "It came to his knowledge that some illegal profiteers are creating problems by dumping products for the sake of some extra money, but he will tackle this issue with the co-operation of the price control committee".
He asked people to co-operate with the administration in maintaining the stability of the prices of the essential commodities and avoid purchase of things on higher prices.
