HRCP demands probe into liquor-related deaths

Human Right Commission of Pakistan, Multan Task Force has demanded a high level judicial inquiry into the liquor-related deaths in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Kotadu, Khangarh and Jatoi.
"We demand a high level judicial inquiry into the large scale deaths after taking toxic liquor because no official of excise, police, health department was interrogated so far," said Rashid Rehman Advocate Incharge of HRCP Multan.
He alleged that Police was trying to save the main culprits and less important people were being arrested. He also demanded for collecting of stock of toxic liquor from the market because people are dying daily.
Meanwhile, death toll rose to 39 as another five people died in Nishtar Hospital Multan on Monday night. Six are in critical condition while some new affectees have also been admitted to the hospital. Doctors are trying to save their lives.
