Chicago Board of Trade corn futures were weaker on Tuesday on forecasts for good crop weather this week in the US Midwest, traders said.
There had been worries last week about a potential freeze this week that could have harmed the immature corn crop in the northern Midwest.
CBOT corn futures were 2-3/4 to 4 cents per bushel lower by 11:15 am CDT (1615 GMT). September was down 2-3/4 at $2.20-3/4 and new-crop December was 3-1/4 weaker at $2.27-3/4.
The market took its biggest dip on the open and began to stabilise after December corn touched its contract low of $2.25.
