08 Sep, 2004

NYBOT raw sugar futures settled lower on Tuesday amid speculative and fund sales into sell-stop orders, as the market's recent rally seemed to stall, brokers said.
October sugar ended just off session lows, down 0.24 cent at 7.89 cents a lb. Trading on the day ranged from 7.85 to 8.07 cents. March slipped 0.18 cent to 8.54 cents, while the rest of the board lost 0.09 to 0.18 cent.
Technicians pegged resistance in October sugar at the contract's high of 8.43 and then 8.50 cents, while support was seen at 7.75 and then at 7.50 cents.
