Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and Acting Chairman Senate Khalil-ur-Rehman have condoled the sad demise of renowned writer, playwright, intellectual and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmed, who died in Lahore.
In his message of condolence, the Senate Chairman recounted the services rendered by late Ashfaq Ahmed in the field of art and literature, and observed that in the death of Ashfaq Ahmed we had lost a great legend whose writings and thoughts impressed the people.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant solace to the members of bereaved family to bear the great loss with fortitude.
Acting Chairman Senate, in his message of condolence, lauded the services rendered by late Ashfaq Ahmed as a playwright and critic, and remarked that in the death of Ashfaq Ahmed the literary circles had been deprived of a great personality who always upheld the flag of brotherhood, love and tolerance.
