Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport, Industries & Commerce Adil Siddiqui has urged on women entrepreneurs to come forward and actively contribute to the economic development of the country.
The minister, while holding a meeting with a seven member delegation of Women Chamber of Commerce (WCC) on Wednesday discussed various issues pertaining to the chamber's affairs and assured the delegation of his full support and co-operation.
He said the government was making all out efforts to promote private entrepreneurs and it was high time that maximum women folk should come forward in that sector.
He further pointed out Sindh Small Industries Corporation had been reactivated to promote cottage industry and traditional handicrafts and the women entrepreneurs could develop a close liaison with it to get the required assistance.
Encouraging the visiting delegation, he assured his co-operation and said he would always welcome suggestions and plans from their side for the promotion of trade and commerce in the province.
He was of the view that women entrepreneurs had great potential for income generating and they should play active role in the economic development. The delegation was headed by Begum Salma Ahmed while Farzana Rehman, Mehreen Elahi, Salma Murad and others accompanied her.
