LHC overrules objection

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday overruled the objection of the Court office raised in a petition filed against The Bank of Punjab raffle of Rs 25, and directed the office to fix the same before any suitable bench of the LHC.
The petitioner a member Lahore High Court Bar Association M D Tahir contended that it is gambling and is clear violation of Islamic injunctions.
He said that it is also against the Gambling Act and prayed to the court to declare the said riffle as illegal, unconstitutional and against the Islamic injunctions.
He also prayed to the court to stop the respondent government from indulging in such acts of gambling in future.
