City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said here on Thursday that planning work for the construction of fly-over at Hassan Square and Sohrab Goth has been finalised besides designs prepared for underpass at FTC and Gharibabad in Karachi.
Briefing a high level delegation currently visiting Karachi, the City Nazim told that CDGK was working on various development projects.
"The CDGK has established a Quran and Sunnah Academy and imposed a ban on holding dance competitions and taking part by the boys and girls students at the educational institutions," he told adding that city government has been striving for developing an Islamic and welfare society in the city.
The delegation that met the City Nazim at civic centre, was led by Chairman, Local Government Commission Balochistan, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Sharwodi.
The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has established separate parks and sports clubs for the ladies, City Nazim told.
Naimatullah Khan told further that Public Safety Commission for Karachi has not yet been constituted while the City Nazim has no authority over the police to maintain law and order.
" It is essential that the police works under the City Nazim to maintain law and order in the city," he maintained.
He viewed that the law and order in Karachi was not that as the western media portrays and added that even a minor incident is presented by them with exaggeration.
Naimatullah Khan said the CDGK has not imposed any new tax during last three years and despite that had carried out and completed a number of projects.
