SCBA condemns killings in tribal region

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday strongly condemned killings in Khunkhela Mountains in South Waziristan tribal region and termed it such actions would create hatred among the people of the area against the armed forces.
Talking to NNI, the Vice President of Supreme Court Bar Association Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry said killings of innocent people in the name of terrorism would cause dangerous affect for integrity of the country.
He demanded that constitutional institutions be restored and parliament should be allowed to decide these important issues, he said adding that military operation should be stopped in all areas and disputes must be resolved through political acumen.
At least 60 people were killed and several injured when Pakistan's fighter planes and gun-ship helicopters bombed bases of foreign militants and their local supporters in a major offence in the country's tribal region close to Afghan border on Thursday.
