Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Friday said that a public affairs wing would be constituted at Prime Minister's Secretariat for the remedy of problems confronting parliamentarians.
He made this assurance while speaking at the parliamentary parties meeting, held at Parliament House before the start of 21st session of the National Assembly.
Giving details of the meeting, Ishfaq Gondal, Press Secretary of PM, said that Shaukat Aziz was briefed about the current session.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Sher Afgan Niazi gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister regarding the government strategy for the 21st session.
The Prime Minister asked the parliamentarians to take utmost interest in proceedings of the House. He directed all the federal ministers and ministers of state to be well prepared for positive response to opposition's questions and criticism.
Shaukat Aziz also assured them that a Public Affairs Wing would be setup at Prime Minister's Secretariat for the facilitation of all MNAs and Senators. According to Ishfaq Gondal, either a secretary or an additional secretary will head the wing.
Shaukat Aziz said that the wing would be helpful in addressing all problems confronting parliamentarians including delay in development schemes in their respective constituencies.
He said that the parliamentarians would be taken into confidence on every important matter and promised to keep in touch with them regularly.
The Prime Minister assured the lawmakers that he would start meetings with them in groups from the next week, and will listen to their problems.
