Business community asked to elect the best

Former President FPCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Malik has urged upon the traders community to elect the best candidates in elections of their representatives bodies to bring a change in chambers working.
In a statement on Friday, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry former President said that traders community is an important segment of the society and it's supposed to play a leading role in strengthening country's economy and the institutions. He added that traders and industrialists' involvement in elections of chambers was indicatives of their trust and confidence in democratic system.
Traders bodies elections are in progress. Almost for all 44 chambers across the country, more than two groups are contesting in each case.
Iftikhar Malik termed the chambers' elections as learning process for the traders representatives and was of the view that voters should give a chance to new blood in these elections.
Malik appreciated the government's policies both on economic and political fronts and termed them a good sign for the progress and prosperity of the country. He hoped that Shaukat Aziz's government would expedite the pace of country's progress.
The FPCCI former President wants quality products from his Pakistani fellow exporters/ industrialists and traders so that they could get good profit on their exports and help Pakistan get its exports target.
He said quality would be the only criteria in the WTO regime and solution to all problems confronted by Pakistan lies in its better performance on economic front.
He viewed that issues like poverty and unemployment could be resolved through better economic achievements and private sector could be driving force for the said job.
