Ittehad Founders group begins drive for SCCI polls

The Ittehad Founders group has initiated its vigorous campaign for fast approaching elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The election activities for Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry has gained momentum in this export-oriented city.
The SCCI had initiated various mega projects, like Sialkot International Airport, Sialkot Export Processing Zone and Sialkot City Package programme, under which main arteries of the city have been constructed and work on remaining roads is in progress.
Addressing a meeting on Friday the group leader of Ittehad Founders group Riazuddin Sheikh pledged to continue efforts for resolving the problems confronting the business community of Sialkot without any discrimination.
Riazuddin Sheikh said: "We believe in democratic process and its promotion, adding that every year the elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry were held under rules and regulations as well as on scheduled programme.
He said that Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was the only chamber of the country, which had honoured the small and medium entrepreneurs and ensure their representation in the executive committee.
He pinpointed that out of 53 office holders of the SCCI 27 office holders belonged to "Associate Class", adding, "this practical step indicates that we believe in the promotion of small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) as well as to protect their rights."

Speaking on the occasion, former senior vice-president SCCI Muhammad Sadiq Goraya said that Ittehad Founders group was playing tremendous role for betterment of the SMEs as well as for removing the hurdles, which were hindering their business.
He said that with active support and co-operation of the members, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry would be made the exemplary chamber.
Several other members of the Ittehad Founders group also spoke on the occasion and pledged to continue their efforts for strengthening the group as well as for making the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry still stronger.
