Uniform issue should be left to President: Jatoi

Federal Water and Powers Minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said that holding of both the offices at a time should be left to the discretion of President General Pervez Musharraf.
He said that any decision of the president regarding uniform should be acceptable to all the opposition parties in the larger national interest.
In a press statement issued here on Sunday, the minister said that the opposition should know that the president would take the decision in national interest and they should not criticise it.
He said that the president had always taken decisions in the best interest of the people and the country and due to this Pakistan got prestigious status in the world.
The role of Pakistan against terrorism is being admitted and praised by the world leaders. The country is stable economically and politically and all the democratic and economic institutions are strengthening. All the economic indicators are moving in the right direction. The manufacturing sector growth has increased by 18.1 percent, which is highest in the last decade. Now economically Pakistan is in take-off position.
Foreign investment of millions of dollars is coming to Pakistan and various multinational companies have shown their interest to invest in Pakistan due to investment-friendly policies and environment created by the president. The president's vision and decisions are behind in all these achievements and stability.
Jatoi asked the opposition parties to wait for the time and accept any decision taken by the president in this regard as his decision would be for the prosperity of the people, economic stability and safety of the country.
