Provincial government has prepared a comprehensive plan for the elimination of beggary and setting up of educational institutions for special children at tehsil level during current fiscal period in the Punjab.
Official sources on Sunday told Business Recorder here that the government was committed to wipe out the menace of beggary from grassroots level and a vigorous drive against beggary would be launched shortly simultaneously in all districts of the Punjab.
Sources disclosed that a "Protection Home" is being established at provincial headquarter where vocational training would be imparted to the children engaged with the menace of beggary enabling them to earn their livelihood in a respectable way.
The Punjab government had allocated Rs 400 million for this programme during current financial year.
These educational institutions would be established at tehsil level aimed at providing maximum educational facilities to the special children at their doorsteps and to lessen their travelling difficulties.
The special children would be provided ultra modern education and training facilities in different fields, sources added.
