Airbus denies backing Microsoft in EU case

Aircraft maker Airbus on Thursday denied a report it was siding with Microsoft in its anti-trust battle with the European Union.
"We remain totally neutral. We are not taking sides," an Airbus spokeswoman said.
The Financial Times reported earlier on Thursday that the planemaker, a unit of Europe's largest aerospace company EADS, had applied to intervene on Microsoft's behalf in its legal challenge to the European Union executive at the European Court of First Instance.
But the Airbus spokeswoman said the report was unfounded.
"We are not taking sides with Microsoft or anything of the kind," she said. "There is a technical point of law in the arguments given by the EU court in the case against Microsoft and we wanted this to be clarified."
She said the technical point concerned criteria for market definition.
