Here is how major stock markets outside the United States ended on Friday.
The FTSE Eurotop 300 index ended up 0.58 percent at 1,001.21 points, its first close above the psychologically important 1,000 point mark since June 29.
Volume was good at three billion euros, boosted by the expiry of stock and index derivatives contracts across Europe.
The pan-European benchmark is up 1.3 percent for the week and 4.6 percent for the year, though still well inside is long-standing trading range.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index finished 6.7 points or 0.19 percent higher at 3,631.6, the index has risen 35.6 points over the week.
The All-share index closed at 11,513.26, up 100.71 points or 0.88 percent, a rise of 286.44 from last Friday, the Gold index closed at 1992.59, up 9.72 points or 0.49 percent, up 48.98 from September 10, while the Industrial index closed at 7982.51, up 22.52 points or 0.28 percent, rising 170.67 from seven days ago.
