19 Sep, 2004

Landhi Association of Trade and Industry (LATI) has urged City Nazim Naimatullah Khan to direct the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to repair the overflowing main sewerage line at Hussain Chowrangi causing damage to roads and inconvenience in traffic flow.
The association noted that it had repeatedly sent representations to KWBB highlighting the problem but of no use.
The association pointed out that the general condition of roads of entire Landhi industrial area is deplorable. Further this overflow of sewerage water is an added misery for industries in the area, workers and staff.
Every link road of Landhi industrial area is the only way to pass through it. There is no alternative road. Sewerage water is not only further deteriorating the road but also causing very heinous impression to foreign buyers.
Many of industries of Landhi industrial area are engaged in export which cause frequent visitors of foreign buyers to this area. When they observe this standard of civic facilities they become suspicious not only about the delivery of consignment within scheduled timeframe but also about the quality and standard of Pak products.
