At least 17 pilgrims were killed and 28 injured when their bus plunged into a deep ravine in northern Pakistan, police said on Sunday.
"Seventeen people died and 28 were injured when their bus fell into a deep ravine while taking a sharp turn in the mountain area late Saturday," Kahuta police official Shah Wali told AFP.
Kahuta lies 30 kilometres, south-east of Islamabad. The bus was carrying pilgrims from Narowal city to the tomb of a saint in the Azad Kashmir town of Palandri, he said.
The injured have been moved to a government hospital in Rawalpindi city and three are in critical condition, he said.
