LCCI sees strong economy under Shaukat government

The former President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) Iftikhar Ali Malik has extended unflinching support to Shaukat Aziz government hoping it would steer out Pakistan from its problems like poverty and unemployment.
Malik offered support on behalf of his group which has won 9 seats in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) elections with overwhelming majority during a meeting with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at Governor House Lahore on Wednesday.
The FPCCI delegation appreciated the government policy of continuing with its previous economic plan and hoped that strategy would work to help Pakistan become a strong economy and also overcome its serious problems like unemployment and poverty.
The newly elected Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries Chairman Mian Misbahur Rehman and outgoing Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar were accompanying Iftikhar Ali Malik during the meeting.
Other prominent traders and industrialists who were present during meeting with the Prime Minister were Tariq Sehgal, Ilyas Chaudhry, Haji Bashir.
The prime minister appreciated the traders support for his government and asked them to work jointly for the welfare and progress of the country.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Iftikhar Ali Malik said sweeping win of his group in LCCI elections was indicative of traders and industrialists confidence in the ability of newly elected office bearers.
Malik reiterated he and his group would serve traders community without any discrimination so that united efforts could be made for strengthening country's economy.
The FPCCI former President said other traders representatives should also join hands with the government to achieve its goal for progress of the country within possible shortest time frame.
He thanked the voters and supporters who played their role in making win of his group in LCCI elections a big success.
