Motorway Police of N-5 central zone challaned 424,751 vehicles on various charges realising fine of Rs 114.77 million during the first eight months of the calendar year.
Motorway police sources on Sunday told APP that the police challaned 145,726 vehicles and collected fine of Rs 47.8 million from traffic rule violators during the same period of last year.
The sources said strict implementation of traffic rules was ensured resulting in challaning of more vehicles and realising of Rs 66.97 more fine as compared to the last year.
The Motorway police educated about 11,66,086 people through Mobile Education Van-based awareness campaign launched by the motorway police.
The police helped 162,465 passengers in different incidents on motorway and briefed 20,48,926 motorists during this period, sources added.
