President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan has said that Kashmiris are the actual party of the Kashmir issue and will not recognise any solution that is not in line with their aspirations.
"Kashmiris will not accept any solution that is against their views and will," Anwar said this while addressing a reception hosted in his honour by the Kashmiris here on Monday.
Taj Muhammad chaired the ceremony. Sardar Shafi Muhammad, Raja Mukhtar Ahmad and others addressed the ceremony.
Sardar Anwar said that the ongoing peace talks between India and Pakistan were a good omen but he said the Kashmiris should not attach more expectations to the talks' process. "Kashmiris will only accept the solution, which would be in line with their wishes," he added.
He said they favour the proposal of combining the divided families across the Line of Control. However, he said they would not accept the proposal of visa and passport must for travelling across the Line of Control. He said: "We will not allow the impression to be emerged that the Line of Control is a permanent border."
Anwar said the Kashmiris' freedom destination had come near before the 9/11 incident. He stressed on the Kashmiris' community to be patient and move steadily with firm resolves. Only by this, he said they could achieve their goal.
He said that the Kashmiris should not link much hope to the United Nations, as the UN cannot take any step by itself.
He asked the overseas Kashmiris to forge unity. "You should elect representatives for the Congress, Senate and Local Governments by your votes that can protect your interests," he maintained.
Anwar said: "The time is demanding us to give more sacrifices to achieve our freedom as the world situation is changing quickly." Only by this way, he said they would be able to get their freedom.
