LZE series auction fetches Rs 1.1 million

Punjab government has fetched around Rs 1.1 million through open auction of attractive registration marks of LZE series held here on Monday.
The auction took place at the office of the Director Excise & Taxation Region-C Lahore, Chaudhry Shamim Ahmad. Motor Registration Authority Lahore Mian Ahmad Saeed and Superintendent Excise & Taxation Department Chaudhry Mohammad Saleem supervised the auction proceedings.
According to sources in Excise & Taxation Department, out of a total of 136 attractive registration marks of LZE series, 95 numbers were contested. The highest bid of Rs 100,000/- was received for LZE-1, while the offer of Rs 55,000 came for LZE-786. The reserved price for LZE-1 was Rs 10,000/-, while it was Rs 7,500/- for LZE-786.
According to them, the provincial government has recovered millions of rupees through auction of attractive registration marks in different districts of Punjab, since the new auction policy announced by the government. Secretary E&T Sami Saeed has taken various steps to ensure transparency in the auction process.
