Russia's Maria Sharapova, women's singles winner at Wimbledon this year, routed Anne Kremer of Luxembourg on Saturday to advance to the final of the Korea Open WTA tournament here.
The 17-year-old tennis siren needed only 23 minutes to take the first set 6-0 and another 24 minutes to take the next set 6-2.
Sharapova combined explosive services with razor-sharp strokes, displaying dazzling speed and power. She took advantage of her 183-centimetre (six feet) height and her power to hammer in five service aces during the match.
Sharapova will face Marta Domachowska of Poland in the final on Sunday. Domachowska defeated Abigail Spears of the United States 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to reach the final. The Korea Open Hansol Tournament is on the fourth tier of the WTA Tour and offers total prize money of 140,000 dollars.
