Pakistan take firm 5 points lead over India in golf

Pakistani golfers struck outstanding performance and took five points lead over India which managed just one point on the opening day of the 4th Pakistan-India golf competition for the Kirloskar Cup here on Monday at Lahore Gymkhana course.
The home golfers boosted by their top ranking players, Dr Imal Zaman, Waqas Ahmad, Shahid Javed Khan and Tang Mahmood rose to the occasion to give their side a firm start in the main event between the two national teams.
Whereas in the 40-50 years age group and above 50 years age competition the home golfers also established their supremacy.
The following are the results of the matches played on four -ball Greensome:
(National Team):
Dr Aimal Zaman and Waqas Ahmed beat Vikrant Chopra and Jaideep Patwardan. Shahid Javed Khan and Tariq Mehmood beat Jaskirat Dullet and Amarbir Sing.
(40-50 Years Age Group):
Fakhar Imran and Mehmood Aziz beat Ranjit S. Atwal and Sanjeev Mehra. Colonel Saud Khan and Colonel Asif Mehdi level with Amik Luthra and Ashit Luthra after 18 holes.
(Above 50 Years Age Group): Taimur Hassan and Suban Alam beat Madhu Misra and Dr V.T. Date. Shoaib Bukhari and Shafiq Bhatti beat Ashok Malik and Gangesh Khaitan.
