LHC adjourns Sialkot jail case till October 20

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned to October 20 the proceedings in a petition filed by Ghulam Abbas Bokhari praying to the court to transfer the case pertaining to killings of judges in Sialkot jail from anti-terrorist court to Lahore High Court (LHC), as District Police Officer (DPO) failed to appear before the court.
The DPO Sialkot has been suspended after the recent Sialkot incident in which several people died. Due to suspension of DPO, the report of investigators panel about Sialkot Jail incident could not be produced before the court.
It may be mentioned the LHC has already directed the respondent accountability court not to announce its final verdict till disposal of the petition before the court. pre-arrest bail cancelled
Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday cancelled pre-arrest bail granted to one Muhammad Rafiq, a distributor of Unilever Limited, by Additional District and Sessions Judge Lahore.
The petitioner company approached the LHC for cancellation of his bail through Talib H. Rizvi who contended before the court that the respondent judge had allowed bail to Muhammad Rafiq illegally.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, cancelled the pre-arrest bail granted to the accused.
Muhammad Rafiq was a distributor of the petitioner company and gave cheques amounting to Rs 9.8 million to the Company, which were dishonoured by the bank.
