The human rights organisations, NGOs, women organisations from all over the country would stage a demonstration in front of Parliament House on October 8 at 10.00 am.
"We have planned with the consent of all human rights organisations, NGOs to stage a demonstration in front of parliament against the honour-killing, ending the discriminatory laws like Hadood Ordinance to put pressure on the parliamentarians for legislation to protect the women rights", Zohra Sajjad Zaidi, a spokesman for the Amnesty International told newsmen here on Wednesday.
Zohra said: "We continue to increase pressure on the government for abrogation of discriminatory laws against women and honour-killing (Ghairat).
Earlier, a meeting was held here which attended by Suhail Javed of Pakistan Labour Party, Naseeruddin, Maqbool Bhatti, Dr Niaz Ahmed, Mukhtar Soomro, Naseem Akhtar, Rukhsana Kausar, Naila Bano, Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf, Salim Yousaf, and Riaz Ahmed.
