Shaukat directs government servants to work with commitment

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday directed the civil servants to work with commitment and dedication to execute the policies of the government for the benefit of masses.
Addressing the senior civil servants here at Prime Minister's Secretariat, the Prime Minister said, the government could not work successfully and perform its role effectively without fully committed civil servants.
The Prime Minister said the civil servants should come up to the challenges of the government and implement the policies for the welfare of the people.
Referring to the importance of the civil servants, the Prime Minister said they are the catalyst and facilitators of the government to improve quality of administration and governance.
He said the civil servants are pillars of the government and they have to play important role in the smooth and orderly function of the government to make the country a prosperous and welfare state.
Shaukat Aziz emphasising the need on training and acquiring new skills for the civil servants said, there is need to invest more on the training of these officials to help them perform better.
The Prime Minister directed the civil servants to fix goals and targets and then make sincere efforts to achieve them through hard work for the benefit of the people. He said the main emphasis of the working of the civil servants should be result oriented and not activity oriented only.
He said the government would announce compensation for the civil servants showing good performance to encourage the committed and hard working officers to improve their efficiency.
The Prime Minister urged the civil servants to keep them abreast with changes taking place and look ahead by improving their skills through constant education and training.
The Prime Minister said a new commission has been constituted to review pays, pensions and services of the government servants, which will also look into compensation with performance.
