Pakistan and Azerbaijan to enhance defence co-operation

Pakistan and Azerbaijan have expressed resolve to enhance mutual defence co-operation. This was discussed during a meeting between Minister for Defence Rao Sikandar Iqbal and the visiting Naval Chief of Azerbaijan Rear Admiral Shahin Sultanov in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
The minister told the Naval Chief of Azerbaijan that Pakistan attached utmost importance to its relations with Azerbaijan and desired to further strengthen its ties in all fields particularly defence.
Rear Admiral Shahin Sultanov informed the minister that his country fully supported Pakistan's stand on Indian occupied Kashmir issue.
The minister expressed his gratitude over Azerbaijan's support on Indian occupied Kashmir.
Minister of State for Defence Zahid Hamid was also present in the meeting and told the visiting dignitary that Pakistan supported Azerbaijan over the issue of Nagorno Karabakh.
He offered to the Naval Chief of Azerbaijan that Pakistan would help provide training to the Naval Forces of Azerbaijan.
He said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoyed excellent brotherly relations and Pakistan was looking forward to enhance defence co-operation with Azerbaijan.
